August 30, 2017 Update
Washtenaw County Detachment 414 of the Marine Corps League wants to meet YOU!
We will be participating in all three days of the awesome Thunder Over Michigan Air Show this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at Willow Run Airport.
Look for our red tent on the show grounds, and stop by for raffle tickets and Marine Corps merchandise. Our raffle tickets are going to go fast! We’re raffling off a $250 Cabela’s gift card, a Fitbit heart rate monitor, and a $100 Visa gift card. On Sunday the 3rd, we’re even raffling off a GRAND PRIZE: a Curved 55-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV! The proceeds from our participation in this event will allow us to continue serving area veterans and others in our community—something we truly enjoy.
After checking out our raffle and merch, feel free to stay awhile, trade “war stories,” and speak with Marines and Marine supporters about what our organization does for the community.
Don’t miss out on a show that is widely regarded as one of THE best air shows in the country! Come see the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, countless other phenomenal military and civilian aircraft, the history-making “largest paratroop drop in the world,” and the WWII reenactments that take place every day. (Get tickets here.)
See you there!
August 10, 2017 Update
Our next Detachment function is the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show on Labor Day weekend (September 2-4) at the Willow Run Airport. We will have a tent at the show where we will be selling Marine Corps merchandise and hosting several raffles with some awesome prizes. Both the merchandise and raffles will benefit our Detachment’s charitable activities in our community. Not interested in these? Then just stop by to talk with fellow members of the Marine Corps family. We’d love to meet you.
In addition to our Detachment’s and several other great organizations’ presence at the air show, there is a growing list of impressive military and civilian static displays, realistic WWII reenactments (featuring the history-making “largest paratroop drop in the world”), aircraft rides, and of course… the Blue Angels! These and more will make this three-day air show an event not to be missed, and this air show is widely regarded as one of the best in the nation. We hope you will stop by our tent as you make your way around the air show grounds. (Get tickets here!)
Lastly, our next regular meeting is Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 PM at the Moose Lodge #782 (located at 5506 Stony Creek Road in Ypsilanti). At this meeting, we will debrief on the air show and plan for our fall and winter events. Pencil us in!
